Lubor Trubka Associates Architects
Leading Experts in Engineered Wood Design and Architecture
Lubor Trubka Associates Architects was established in 1975, and incorporated as LTA Production Ltd. on July 30, 1981 for the execution of all contracts. Repeat clients include numerous First Nations communities, various departments of Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments, Private Corporations, Universities, Schools and Museum Boards.
LTA has been responsible for the design and master planning of both small and large sites with complex facilities in Canada, USA, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Russia and Czech Republic. Most of LTA's large-scale international contracts were awarded through participating in, and winning international design competitions.
LTA projects are nationally and internationally publicized and have received awards for design excellence, engineering innovation, energy efficiency and sustainability. In light of the Wood First Act, mandating provincially funded projects to utilize the excellent properties of BC's Wood and Engineered Wood Products, we offer, with sincere enthusiasm, our unique locally and internationally recognized expertise in the areas of wood design and construction. Wood reflects the history and culture of BC First Nations and is the most readily available, sustainable material found in abundance everywhere in BC.
Illustrated past projects are proof of LTA's commitment to, and specialization in, utilization of wood. Mr. Trubka is frequently invited to lecture at seminars and symposiums of wood structures and his contribution to the advancement of Canadian wood construction technologies, and their local and international application, was recognized in 2008 by the Canadian Wood Council and WoodWORKS! BC with the Wood Champion Award.
LTA actively promotes a broader use of sustainable, environmentally responsible construction in Canada and abroad, and has been pioneering "Green Building" sustainable and energy efficient design on all of our projects since long before the introduction of the LEED program to Canada.
Of particular note is LTA's experience with First Nations bands and Tribal Councils and our experience working with Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) and Health Canada. LTA has worked with First Nations communities across the interior and along the coast of BC including community master plans, community centres, museums and cultural centres, schools, health centres, a drug and alcohol treatment centre, a friendship centre, band and tribal administration offices, housing, and resort facilities. These projects hold a very special appeal because of the process of working with the community and learning about their past and present lives and aspirations for the future.
